LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Well, hello there!! Welcome to Stepmom Strong’s brand new, hot off the presses, website!!
Like many of you, when I became a stepmom for the first time I searched and searched for as much information as I could find. And when I searched, it was like a black hole of information. There were lots of sites I could look at that were amazing, but it took so much time just to find the one’s that I could relate to. There was also a lot of bashing. Bashing stepmoms. Bashing bio-moms. Bashing stepdads. Bashing bio-dads. And bashing bio and stepkids. It drove me crazy!
While we all need a place to vent, don’t I know it, we also need a place of reference to get actual advice and information. So that is how Stepmom Strong was born. It started and continues on Instagram, but a place that had resources for all was definitely needed. I longed for a place that uplifted people like me, who married (or are dating) someone with a child.
Until you become a stepparent, it’s hard to explain stepparenting and why it can be so complex. On Stepmom Strong, I hope you will find the unconditional support that allows each day to be a little better than the day before. As this site grows and expands, we hope to add tools that will help educate stepparents from all walks of life. Feel free to let me know what you want to see more on Stepmom Strong. We are stronger together. We are Stepmom Strong.
